BRAZILIAN BIRDS

"When worn trails can no longer sustain the

repeated traversals, forge ahead an alternative path

and get reinvigorated by fresh discoveries"

(Lopez-Espina, 2013)

A long time ago, a fellow photographer told me Brazil is essentially a “large jungle.”   Although I had alredy visited Rio and Iguazu Falls, I never ventured into the depth of this country to contradict that depiction.   After decades later, I can now rebuff his portrayal by assuring everyone this country possesses an immense diversity of habitats.  From beautiful white sand deserts to cold mountainous regions.   No one can dispute the Amazon makes for a large part of this country, but don’t let that fact mislead you.

The birds in this gallery belong to the gorgeous northeast coast of Brazil.  As you will see, the images provide a repertoire of species few outsiders have ever seen.
