MAMMALS - PORTFOLIO THREE

"Fostering our reverence for wildlife and

the environment becomes vital for

upholding our humanity status "

(Lopez-Espina, 2017)

It’s hard to describe the exhilaration one feels in having a front-row seat to a magical wildlife show. I only wish everyone felt the same and their fascination extended past the obvious. It never ceases to amaze me how many individuals travel to Africa just to see the big predators or to Yellowstone to get a glimpse at a grizzly. Many of these folks also have little interest for more common animals. Rather unfortunate when one considers how beautiful and interesting most animals are if we only paid attention to their behaviour.

Throughout my career, I’ve favored no particular species. For me, all of nature’s creatures are equal. My main interest is to capture the best image possible of each subject.   Given the choice of photographing lions mating in the shade or a beautifully lit gazelle, the decision for me is very easy.
